Kimberly, a Bristol UWE BEng(Hons), Arch. & Eng. undergraduate traveled to the paradise island of Bali, Indonesia at the age of fourteen with her Singapore mentor, Y. Everett. She climbed the active volcanic mountain, Mt Batur (1,717 m) at 2am to see the stunning sunrise, scenic view of Lake Batur, rugged valleys, craters and hot springs with volcanic steam. Her other challenge in Bali was handling a huge python, mongoose and chameleon for the first time. She also drew pictures on the unusual black sand of Sanur beach and learnt the fascinating Indonesian batik liquid wax fabric design. She took her first plane trip from Hong Kong to Malaysia when she was eighteen months old. Since the age of six, she had traveled abroad every year on Virgin Atlantic as an unaccompanied minor to enjoy the summer outside the UK. When she turned eleven, she made the incredible trip of a lifetime. No fear of jetlag! She traveled a tailor-made Round The World trip with her UK mentors for two months - from London to USA - Los Angeles & San Diego, Hawaii, New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, P.R. China and back to London. Other European countries that she had visited include Wales, Scotland, France, Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain, Bulgaria and the Canary Islands. She went on her first cruise from Singapore to Hong Kong to celebrate Chinese New Year on board when she was four. The love of adventure travels and art is definitely in her blood.
